Somebody decided he wanted to start his vacation early and came down with a case of strep throat (poor Doodle) so needless to say the 5,000 things I had planned on getting done during this last week of school went out the window, including teacher gifts. But, after taking stock of what I did have around the house I was able to come up with a few things to offer these amazing people who take care of my kids with so much love, every day.
The first is a peppermint sugar scrub.
I found the tutorial over at Delia Creates. And I have to say, I will NEVER spend another penny on store bought scrubs again! I am excited to tweak this recipe and make different versions such as citrus of vanilla or infuse a little strawberry pulp in there! (not bad when you can literally eat your body cleansers...not that you'd want to...unless you're really really hungry.)
And then I made some gluten free homemade granola from this recipe found on Whole Food Living.
I thought my granola was my favorite until I found this one. There's something about toasted coconut flakes that makes my heart flutter.
I used some stamps and glittery cardstock to make the bag labels:
So, on to an afternoon of ice-skating outside (yes, even though it's sunny and warm out, we still get to pretend it's winter) I am thrilled to be hunkering down for the next two weeks at home, spending time with friends and family and appreciating all the joy that my children bring me each and every day.
