I was inspired by this hearty stem of brussel sprouts I found at Whole Foods. I have to admit, I was never a fan of brussel sprouts until this year. How is that possible? I feel like I've really been missing out on years of brussel intake!!
After plucking the buds from the stems, I trimmed the ends and then quartered them.
I set the toaster oven to roast and drizzled olive oil over the sprouts and then spinkled them with salt and pepper. I let them roast for about 15 minutes. So easy!
They were served with steak and homemade frites!
And a kale / spinach / radish / haricoverts salad (see if you call things by their French names, they suddenly sound so much more elegant!)
A nicely paired wine. Fresh flowers....
Oh, and to make the fries French, just sprinkle with some freshly chopped parsley!
For dessert I covered some strawberries and raspberries in dark chocolate and let them sit in the freezer for 15 minutes.
My friend is leaving for Paris this afternoon....I'm trying very hard not to be jealous. But it's just not working.
