backpack roundup

Remember this satchel (from Punkin Patterns) I made for Mr. P. on his first day of kindergarten last year? Sadly, the satchel was not allowed at school as backpacks became the requirement.

So I've culled together a backpack tutorial roundup for any other parents in my predicament:

This petite pack is from Sew to Speak (I just love the big button!)

These Circle Bags from Me Sew Crazy remind me of hat boxes:

This Back to School backpack from Hart and Sew is amazing! I love all the pocket details!

This owl tutorial from Moda Bake Shop is too ambitious for me, but for those that love a good challenge, I dare you!

B is for Boy Creations made a wonderfully traditional backpack!

And my favorite (maybe I'll try this for next year...that gives me 11 months to complete a project, right?) from I Am Momma, Hear Me Roar:

Don't forget to check out my current Kate Spade giveaway!!!

  1. Any chance you're thinking of doing the Elsie Marley KCWC (Kids Clothes Week Challenge)? You just pledge to sew (or cut, or trace, or other sew-y things) for one hour each day for a week. I'm thinking about it. Here's the link:

  2. I have been thinking about that!! I think I can handle an hour of crafting a day! But I'd need to break it down into 3 - 20 minute segments or 6 - 10 minute segments!! But with all the Halloween costuming I have planned, I better get started!! Thanks for the link!!
