homemade doughnuts

This weekend I made doughnuts for the first time. 

Instead of frying them, they were baked and they contained a secret, healthy ingredient that made me feel simultaneously better and more disgusted about eating them....sweet potatoes?!?!?!

They came out of the oven looking a little more like bagels than doughnuts, but once I added the sugar and cinnamon, they morphed back into doughnuts. 

And in case you're wondering...they go magically well with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning.
