Sorrow and Anxiety

I just wanted to take a moment and offer my condolences to the people of Japan. A catastrophic chain of events has occurred there that has left so many people suffering and the death toll rises.


I am simultaneously experiencing a good amount of anxiety over these events. I tended to be anxious about disastrous world events before I had children, but now that I have them, the stakes seem higher as is my anxiety.


So, I'm reaching out to the group....besides Valium....what do you do to deal with these kinds of fears / anxieties / stress?? I've heard Valerian Root works as a natural Valium, but I have yet to try it. Has that worked for anyone? I've been doing my best not to watch sensationalist new programs and instead get informed by reading the information. And I definitely haven't let my kids watch any of the news coverage (they're only 2 and 5 after all).


Okay, sleep well my virtual friends. I've been keeping my kids extra close these past few days.

  1. yoga, meditation (even just a few minutes b4 bed), limit news, donate, breathe, appreciate, and if all else fails, hot saki by the gallon.
