Flower Power

Today was pretty uneventful. Breakfast, the gym, a failed attempt at an errand (left my wallet at home) and then home for the rest of the day.

Days spent in the house can be long. Tension was building. These kids needed a craft and they needed one fast!

In stepped 12 Crafts 'til Christmas with her flower project to save me!

Her flowers look like this:

The problem was that my coffee filters are bleach free, organic and, subsequently, stiff as a board, so I had to tweak the flowers a bit. They came out more tulip-like.

Using dot paints, the kids colored the filters. Then glued a Popsicle stick to the bottom, then a button at the base of the stem
.

The whole thing took less than five minutes, but saved impending tantrums from all four members of my family (myself included).

Sadly, we are out of coffee filters, which means, instead of being hopped up on caffeine for Doodlebop's nap, I too will have to sleep.
